MOCA Columns
MOCA Pavilion

JANUARY 26, 2018 – Fantastic Fibers Miami starts the New Year off with a Bomb! A Yarn Bomb! At MOCA. Join us for an evening of artsy fun, and Jazz at MOCA with saxaphonist, Troy Roberts.

We will trans- form this campus!

Many thanks to FFM member, Morgan Lorenzo who is the Teen Program Manager at MOCA. She  organized the event with the museum and got the kids excited about creating art with textiles.

In addition to Yarn Bombing MOCA, we are exhibiting our Artist Books, a year-long fiber art project of FFM. They are awesome! Morgan, Dana, Elena, Veronica, and Pamela initiated one book each, using a color name as the starting point. Each participant created a page that represents what that color means to her. The result is an outstanding collection of Fantastic Fibers Artist Books. They are on exhibit in the Pavilion January 26 – February 2.

The MOCA Teens have their textiles on exhibit in the Pavilion as well, Fresh Threads, curated by Gregory Pierre-Louis.

Museum of Contemporary Art is located at 770 NE 125th Street, North Miami. Plenty of free parking.
